Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, applications, APIs, SDKs, and other services provided byiLoveVideoEditor SRL ("iLoveVideoEditor", "we", "us", or "our"), collectively referred to as the "Services".

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and ourPrivacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and iLoveVideoEditor. You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3.2 Account registration

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You may sign in using email and password or through supported OAuth providers (Google, GitHub, Apple).

3.3 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

3.4 Account types

We offer different account tiers, which may include Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. Each tier has its own feature set, usage limits, and pricing as described on our Pricing page.

4. Our Services

iLoveVideoEditor provides browser-based video editing, rendering, and related tools. Our Services include:

  • A browser-based video editor and preview engine (studio/marketing app).
  • Cloud-based video rendering for final MP4 export (via Railway compute services and Cloudflare R2 storage).
  • A dashboard for account management, billing, team workspaces, and API keys.
  • A REST API and official SDKs (Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby, Go, .NET) for programmatic video creation.

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload, create, or process using the Services ("User Content"), including videos, images, audio, fonts, and project files. We do not claim ownership over your User Content.

5.2 License to us

You grant iLoveVideoEditor a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, transmit, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing, operating, and improving the Services. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or close your account, except where retention is required by law or for technical reasons such as backups.

5.3 Content restrictions

You agree not to upload, create, or process User Content that:

  • Infringes any intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
  • Violates any applicable law, regulation, or these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services, servers, or networks connected to the Services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or other users' accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services, except as permitted by applicable law.
  • Use the Services for cryptocurrency mining, scraping, spamming, or similar activities.
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or billing mechanisms.
  • Use the Services to generate or distribute deepfakes, non-consensual intimate imagery, or other harmful synthetic media.

7. Subscriptions, Payments, and Credits

7.1 Subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions may be billed on a monthly or annual basis, as selected during checkout. Subscriptions automatically renew for successive periods unless you cancel before the renewal date.

7.2 Credits

Cloud video rendering and certain other features consume credits. Credit costs are calculated based on resolution, frame rate, and duration. You may purchase additional credit packs. Credits are non-transferable and may expire according to the terms displayed at purchase.

7.3 Payment processor

Payments are processed securely through Dodo Payments. We do not store your full payment card details. You agree to provide accurate and complete payment information and authorize us to charge the applicable fees.

7.4 Taxes

You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and governmental charges related to your purchase, except for taxes based on our income.

7.5 Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods or unused credits, except at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. Refund requests must be submitted within a reasonable time after the charge.

8. API and SDK Terms

8.1 API access

We may provide access to our API and SDKs subject to these Terms and any additional documentation or policies we publish. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and for all activity that occurs using your keys.

8.2 Rate limits and fair use

API usage is subject to rate limits and concurrent render limits based on your account tier. You agree not to exceed these limits or use the API in a manner that degrades the Services for other users.

8.3 Restrictions

You may not use the API or SDKs to build a competing service, resell API access, or bypass the user interface or billing mechanisms of iLoveVideoEditor without our prior written consent.

9. Confidentiality and Security of Your Files

9.1 Local processing

Many editing and preview operations are performed directly in your browser. Source files from your local device are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly save them to your account or initiate a cloud render.

9.2 Cloud rendering

When you export a final video, your VideoJSON and remote source URLs are transmitted to our cloud render pipeline. We process this data only to generate the output file and delete temporary files after rendering is complete.

9.3 Your responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining backup copies of your User Content. Rendered output files are stored for 30 days after completion and may be deleted automatically after that period. We are not responsible for the loss of files that you fail to download or back up.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or pose a risk to the Services or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services immediately ceases. We may delete or retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Intellectual Property

iLoveVideoEditor and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to the Services, including all software, code, designs, trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding except as necessary to use the Services as permitted herein.

12. Copyright and DMCA Notices

If you believe that any User Content infringes your copyright, please contact us at legal@ilovevideoeditor.com with the following information:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located on the Services.
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, iLoveVideoEditor AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR ONE HUNDRED EURO (€100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless iLoveVideoEditor and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania.

17. General Provisions

17.1 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

17.2 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

17.3 Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and iLoveVideoEditor regarding the Services.
